"It is the government's main plan to combat deforestation in the Amazon and is considered the first national policy to impact greenhouse gas emissions," he said.

The Federal Government has opened a public consultation to put in place the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Legal Amazon (PPCDAm). Rosana Jatobá explains that the plan is a reformulation of the project elaborated in 2004, in Lula's first term, when Minister Marina Silva was also responsible for the environmental portfolio.
