Global agricultural companies commit to sustainable food system

The concept of vertical farms arose from the need to expand agricultural production in the face of population growth, as the name itself says is the practice of growing vegetables and other crops vertically, unlike traditional field agriculture.
In order to contribute to the sustainable transformation of the global food system, the main vertical agricultural industries have committed themselves to the Vertical Agricultural Identification Declaration and Industry Manifesto. The Vertical Farming Manifesto and the Identity Statement were signed by more than 20 global vertical farming companies at the Vertical Farming World Congress in Brussels.
The document describes the urgent need to transform the current food system and explains how vertical agriculture can contribute to the food systems of the future. Vertical agriculture aims to protect food production from inter-options caused by external factors such as climate change, for example, in addition to using less land and water than conventional agriculture.
